​Recently, a driver struck one of the medical buildings at Regional Medical Center of San Jose so hard that the building's integrity had to be checked. The driver of the vehicle was not on the scene when the authorities arrived.

The hit-and-run crash reportedly happened in the early-morning hours, and both emergency personnel and the police responded to the scene.

No Driver, No Injuries

Police reported that the driver was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, the building was not occupied when the crash occurred, so no injuries were reported.

With the driver missing in action, the police called a tow truck to remove the vehicle. Law enforcement officials identified the registered owner of the vehicle but were not initially able to make contact.

The driver will need to be located to make sure the person responsible for the damages is held accountable. Hit-and-run drivers can be charged with a crime under California law.
